With a vibrant live and recorded freelance performance career, Karen's roots are in classical music with a wealth of experience in bands and contemporary settings. She works regularly with touring acts using jazz and folk improvising styles.

Karen has performed at WOMAD, Europafest, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Adelaide Guitar Festival and the Adelaide Fringe and worked with Acoustic Odyssey, Aurora Strings, the Baker Suite,
Co-Opera, Patch Children’s Theatre Company, the Pocket String Quartet and Brink Theatre Company.

Karen is violist for Pocket String Quartet, an adventurous string quartet that is pushing boundaries in string performance and improvisation. PSQ's projects have included performances at WOMADelaide with Trio Da Kali (Mali), Adelaide Festival and Adelaide Fringe. and at The Lab. The quartet create new, innovative works in a contemporary and jazz style with rhythm and groove at the fore and have recently completed recording for Karen's Golden Boy Project.

Another performance project is with Mike Bevan. The DeNardi Bevan Duo regularly present concerts in Adelaide and surrounds are writing original new works for 7-string guitar and violin. The duo also enjoy reworking jazz standards, Brazilian tunes and classical pieces into duets with new feels.

​

For many years, Karen was a member and manager of original music trio Vincent’s Chair. The band enjoyed success on the world stage playing at many jazz/blues/cabaret festivals across Europe and Australia. Her passion for collaboration and cross-genre-styles originated in this group.
